Suffolk County Council will be receiving an increase in funding to help tackle potholes and resurface more roads.

The condition of our local roads is one of the major concerns that constituents’ contact me about and I am pleased that SCC will receive a funding increase of approximately 30% on 2022/2023. As the table in this post shows, our local area is to receive a substantial increase to tackle our local road network.

I have and will continue to push the Council to get to work and expedite the spending of this funding, filling in potholes and resurfacing roads that need desperate repair. The government is requiring all local authorities to publish a summary of the additional resurfacing work they will deliver with this funding, as well as providing a quarterly report of the work and a long-term plan for the transformation that this will deliver.
