On Thursday 11th June, Jo Churchill MP asked her first parliamentary question in the House of Commons.

Mrs Churchill asked the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent discussions he has had with local authorities and local enterprise partnerships on delivery of transport infrastructure projects.

Mrs Churchill said: “My Bury St Edmunds constituency sits on the A14 corridor that connects Felixstowe, Europe’s fifth largest container port, to the rest of the country. Would the Minister be able to visit the constituency to discuss how a collaborative funding approach with the Local Enterprise Partnership and other bodies can facilitate the improvements on the A14 and the campaign for ‘No More Delays on the A14’?”’

Claire Perry MP, Minister of State for Transport responded in the Chamber.

Mrs Churchill said: “I am encouraged by the Minister’s response and the Department’s interest in addressing this vital issue. I look forward to welcoming representatives from the Department to Suffolk to meet with local bodies and understand first-hand their concerns for transport on the A14. Concerns which affect not only Bury St. Edmunds, but the whole East of England.”
