I am delighted that poor mobile phone coverage will be consigned to history following a £1 billion deal to end rural not-spots. By 2025, 95% of the UK will have high quality 4G coverage.

Under new plans, all UK Mobile Network Operators will share phone masts to improve coverage. This is a world first and is incredibly welcome news for rural communities like ours.

Since being elected, I have championed the need to improve our mobile connectivity. This deal moves us a step closer to doing so.

Residents and businesses would see a boost in speeds, as well as a wider choice of network providers in remote areas.

This is welcome news!
