On Tuesday 26th January, Jo Churchill MP was inaugurated into the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Magna Carta, by party Chair Jacob Rees-Mogg MP.

The APPG on Magna Carta promotes the understanding of the history and importance of Magna Carta for the UK and for the world.

In joining the group, Mrs Churchill said: “It is fitting that I, as the Member of Parliament for Bury St Edmunds, am accepted into this all party group. The Magna Carta and the signing of The Greater Charter are at the heart of our history, and with groups still commemorating Magna Carta in our town today, our present and future. It is a great privilege to join this APPG to commemorate our founding freedoms and ensure the importance of Magna Carta is upheld.”

Bury St Edmunds truly is the jewel in the crown of Suffolk and returning from Westminster, I am reminded of just how peaceful and restorative country living is. I too  was born and raised in the country and feel that it is important we protect the traditions and uniqueness of country life.
